John Kerry is TOO smart for Americans
In today's LA Times, some world-government wannabe named Ariel Dorfman actually puts forth the argument that Americans don't appreciate the sophistication, brilliant articulation, "flexibility", and raw intelligence exhibited by John Kerry. What is so sad, is that this writer is himself a perfect example of what's wrong with the liberal movement. They have convinced each other that they are so vastly superior to the masses, that they are utterly baffled when the voters reject them. They just can't understand why they are voted down, and the only explanation they can grasp is that we simply are too dumb to recognize their greatness. And they have the audacity to call Bush arrogant?
- All these years later, with most polls still showing George W. Bush ahead of his opponent after three debates in which Kerry proved himself more articulate and thoughtful and flexible and able to understand an increasingly dangerous world, I am afraid I may have been right. Yet it still seems inconceivable to me that someone as incompetent, incoherent and obtuse as Bush could possibly command almost half the votes of his fellow countrymen.
- Is it that Americans actually like Bush's know-nothing effect?
- It may turn out that enough undecided voters will set aside their misapprehensions and select Kerry as their next president.
