Minimum wage and jobs

When the minimum wage goes up, people get fired. If you happen to be one of those people who still has a job, sure you're slightly better off. Of course, most people who earn minimum wage are teenagers and they quickly rise above minimum wage. Not to mention, many union contracts are tied directly to minimum wage, so the Democrat ploy to raise minimum wage is nothing more than a secret trick to get union votes from members who get a raise when miminum wage goes up.

Not to mention, government setting the price of labor is patently socialist in nature and flies directly in the face of capitalism and freedom. It takes responsibility away from the worker to develop skills, and it forces employers to pay more for work than it is worth in some cases.
